Managing your scholarship

If you are considering changing courses, check the terms and conditions of your scholarship to determine if you can keep your scholarship.

Please notify the Scholarships Office prior to switching courses. 

If you are in receipt of a continuing scholarship, a leave of absence may be allowed for up to 12 months. Refer to your scholarship's terms and conditions for further clarification.

If the scholarship does not allow a leave of absence, but you have exceptional circumstances, contact the Scholarships Office and supply an explanation and reason as well as any supporting documentation if appropriate to request for approval.

If you receive a Centrelink payment, you need to declare any scholarships you are awarded to Centrelink. Your scholarship may impact your Centrelink payments. For advice, please contact Centrelink directly. Please use your Curtin student ID as the scholarship reference number.

If you need a letter about your scholarship for Centrelink, contact the Scholarships Office.

Commonwealth scholarships are not assessed as income for social security purposes.

If you are a full-time student, any money paid by the University towards your fees (student contribution) is not considered as income.
