While you’re studying for your degree from the Faculty of Business and Law, there are plenty of ways for you to get more involved with your course and your passions, all while developing your professional and personal expertise.
You may be eligible to receive Curtin Extra recognition for your participation in these approved programs.
The Youth Leadership Experience is AIESEC Australia’s new platform for young people around Australia to engage in self-development through practical learning.
Students will engage in activities that facilitate leadership and self development. Students will also have opportunities to develop cross-cultural understanding through our events aimed to promote cross-cultural awareness and the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations.

The Bloom Launchpad program has been run by Bloom since 2017. Students from different universities and industry professionals are selected to receive three months of training in business, leadership and pitching skills.
This program has set the course for many would-be entrepreneurs to become successful change makers and seasoned leaders. Curtin students participating in the Bloom Launchpad program are managed by the Faculty of Business & Law Student Engagement team.

The Curtin Tax Clinic (CTC) aims to assist unrepresented taxpayers in meeting or complying with their tax obligations. The CTC is the first clinic of its kind in Australia offering students, under the supervision of experienced tax practitioners, the opportunity to engage in case work directly relevant to their chosen career in taxation.

Enactus is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to inspiring students to improve the world through entrepreneurial action. This program provides a platform for teams of outstanding university students to create community development projects that put people’s own ingenuity and talents at the centre of improving their livelihoods.

The Business and Law High Achievers Program recognises and provides additional professional development opportunities to involved and exceptionally performing students in the Curtin Business School and Curtin Law School.
This semester-long program is designed to help students discover and develop their professional selves by identifying their skills and qualities as a professional. Students are introduced to tools and learning strategies to enhance self-awareness and confidence and plan out their career goals.
Program elements include professional development workshops, reflection and self-awareness activities, Captains of Industry meetings with senior mentors in industry, career guidance, networking opportunities, and one-on-one support sessions.

The John Curtin Law Clinic forms part of Curtin Law School and provides an opportunity for law students to assist members of the community who could not otherwise obtain legal assistance, while obtaining clinical legal education. The Clinic has been in operation since 2017 and operates as a teaching clinic.
All students are supervised by experienced lawyers with Practising Certificates. The students in the Volunteer program do not receive any academic credit.

The Student Editorial Board makes an important contribution to the production of the Reviews. Student Editors gain valuable experience in academic research and writing in law and develop excellent analytical and legal skills. They are also afforded the opportunity to work with the Academic Staff and other law students in the production of an academic publication. Students who submit an article for publication will have their work reviewed by a referee for suitability.

The National Indigenous Business Summer School WA (NIBSSWA) is a free, fun, week-long residential program for Year 11 and 12 students which runs annually and rotates host Universities. NIBSSWA is an initiative of the Australian Business Deans Council in collaboration with Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, The University of Notre Dame Australia and The University of Western Australia.
NIBSSWA Mentors (Curtin students) are an essential part of the camp. Throughout the week, under the direction of NIBSSWA supervisors, mentors work closely with a group of students, assisting, supporting and encouraging them as they progress through the camp activities.

The Postgraduate Wrap Around Program was established to assist postgraduate students from the School of Management & Marketing transition smoothly to their first semester of study. The program consists of a series of workshops throughout the semester designed to support new postgraduate students to integrate and engage with Curtin University.

The Silicon Valley Innovation Tour is a 10-day professional development opportunity for students to learn more about international business, innovation, entrepreneurship and to be immersed in a multi-cultural start up environment. Students will participate in workshops held in the Silicon Valley and other Californian start-up, business and education hotspots in the US.

The Business and Law Student Consultative provides an opportunity for students to become ‘student voice’ representatives for their cohort. Responsible for consulting with their peers on how their learning experiences are going, these students are able to represent their peers’ views and actively contribute to the
