Your ceremony

Ceremony timeline

Order of events	Details
Arrive at venue	We recommend arriving at the venue two hours before the ceremony begins. This will allow you time to find parking and complete pre-ceremony preparation.
	PRE-CEREMONY PREPARATION
Regalia collection	Collect your academic regalia from our regalia and ticketing partner GFP Events located on Edinburgh Oval South.
Graduate briefing	You will be directed to a graduate briefing where you will find out how to locate your seat, cross the stage, doff your hat, and the reception after the ceremony.
	CEREMONY
Academic procession	Stage party will proceed to the stage.
Ceremony commences	The ceremony commences with a Welcome to Country followed by singing the National Anthem Vice-Chancellor’s welcome speech Presentation of Higher Degree by Research graduates Presentation of graduates Graduation address Presentation of remaining graduates Chancellor’s Charge to the graduates
Ceremony close
Academic recession	Stage party will exit the stage
Graduation reception	Graduates to unite with their families and friends, pose for photos, purchase memorabilia and stage photos and return regalia

Parking

Arrival time

It’s best to arrive at least one hour before the ceremony starts to allow enough time to park, collect your academic regalia, attend the graduate briefing and find your seat.

Scan your ticket upon arrival to collect your regalia (see more info below).

Upon entry, event staff will direct you to the graduate briefing (see more info below).

Seat number – Refer to your ticket to find your seat number.

Regalia collection

GFP Events

If you are attending a graduation ceremony in Perth, Kalgoorlie or Singapore you can hire or purchase Curtin academic regalia from our official provider GFP Events. Information regarding regalia hire for ceremonies at other locations will be provided by your campus.

Collection

Upon arrival, you will collect your academic regalia and be fitted out by our regalia and ticketing partner GFP Events.

Guests

Guest tickets

Guest tickets will be issued electronically to the guest’s mobile phone. All guests must display their electronic ticket to gain entry into the venue. Guests will not be able to enter without a valid ticket. If a guest does not have a mobile phone, their ticket can be sent to the mobile of an attending guest. Guests may print their tickets.

All graduates will receive two complimentary guest tickets. PhD graduates will receive four complimentary guest tickets.

Information regarding availability of guest tickets for purchase will be included in the graduate’s Registration Confirmation Official Communication sent after the registration deadline.

Children under 3

Children under 3 years of age do not require a ticket.

COVID-19

Curtin Graduation Ceremonies are run in accordance with the Universities Covid guidelines.

If you are feeling unwell and begin to display symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough or other respiratory symptoms, a sudden loss of taste or smell), or you think you have been exposed to the virus, we ask you to call the State Government’s Coronavirus Information Helpline 1326843 or your own doctor for advice. If you visit a COVID-19 clinic to be tested for the virus, please self-isolate until you have been cleared of COVID-19.
